Keep it Simple! Baba Hari Dass-ji

自分が「皆さんを助けるために」とか「役に立とうと思っている」と言ったとき、ちょっと違和感があったことがありました
こういうことだったんだ！とピンときました！
ヨガのグル　ババ・ハリ・ダス師の言葉です。

Simple and straight understanding is better than getting into complicated philosophies. I make it very simple for myself. That means ‘keep God’s presence in my heart and move on.’ I don’t think about life after death, what I should do for others etc. If my heart and mind are in a positive place then all actions of the mind and functions of the body are being guided by that divine power. So, why should ‘I’ think about helping, serving, doing things? ‘I’ should just go on and everything will happen by itself.

The future is unknown. When we are walking towards the unknown, a dark space, we carry a lamp. That lamp is the ego in worldly-minded people, and in spiritually-minded people that lamp is divine presence. Both are walking towards unknown dark spaces, but one is afraid and the other is fearless.

Everyone will die, it is as real as the sun will set, but humans live in a state forgetful of death. This state forgetful of death brings attachment to life. That attachment creates an individual’s world. Keep the lamp lit; walk on step by step. You can’t go astray but will merge in the light.

シンプルで率直な考え方は、小難しい哲学にハマルより良い。私は、自分自身のことをとてもシンプルに考えている。どういうことかというと、「神様の存在を心に置き、前に進む」ということ。私は、死んだ後のことや、他の人のために何をすべきかなど考えたりしない。もし自分のハートや心がポジティブな状態にあれば、心の活動や体の機能全ては、神聖な力に導かれているということ。だとすれば、なぜ「私」は助ける、仕える、何かするということを考えたりするだろうか。「私」は前に進むだけで、そうすればすべてがおのずと展開していく。

将来というものは未知なものです。未知なもの、闇の中、に向かって歩いていくとき、私たちはランプを持っていきます。そのランプが世俗的な意識を持った人の自我/エゴというもので、また、霊性的な意識を持った人にとっては、神なる存在なのです。どちらの人も未知の暗闇に向かって歩いていきますが、片方の人は怖がり、もう一方の人は勇敢に歩いていきます。

全ての人は死んでいきます、それは日が昇るという事実と同じことなのに、人間というものは死というものを忘れて生きていきます。死を忘れる、ということが人生への執着をもたらします。その執着が「その人の世界」を創ってしまいます。ランプを灯し続け、一歩一歩進みましょう。道を見失うことはありません、その先は、光と交わっていくだけです。
